USSSA - Players League Modified Rules

CO-ED

Bats will be tested (minimum pass is 220) stamped and approved prior to the start of the tournament (Any bat not approved will not be permissible on any part of the premises at any time during the tournament) If a non-authorized bat is found to be used during play at any time a warning will be issued, and bat will be removed. If the occurrence happens a second time, said team will be disqualified for the remainder of the tournament as well as forfeiting the entry fee as well NO EXCEPTIONS.

Balls - 44/375 required to be used (Each team must supply their own balls) Female balls will be provided - If a female chooses to use a female ball she must inform the umpire who will require to inform the pitcher otherwise the large ball will be tossed / if after a pitch females then ask for the smaller ball the prior pitch(s) will count toward the count.

​

Home Run Maximum (2) per game, per team, then I/E. Home Run Bands available for purchase at $25.00 - Allowing player wearing the band to hit as many Homeruns as they can. 1 per team - 1 person per game. Please note: Once a player is selected to wear the HR band (prior to start of game) you cannot switch players mid game - umpire / team(s) must be notified prior to 1st pitch. HR bands will reset after every game and teams may select the same or different player to wear band for next game.

No courtesy line will be in effect 1-1 Count to start - NO courtesy foul to give. No home plate mat - strike zone rules - must cross the plate as a strike (MLB style) Pitching safety net will be used for all games All pitches will require a face mask ( NO EXCEPTIONS) (pitching helmets recommended, but not required)

Pitching Arch - 4ft minimum to 10ft maximum Pump fake will be allowed Any ball that hits the safety net will be considered a dead ball foul Pitchers can stand/get set up to 3ft behind the pitching mound - No courtesy line - Co-ed 6/4 Format (4 Females on the field of play at all times) You can have as many females on the field as you choose. You cannot bat more than 3 males back to back (M,M,M,F,M,M,M, F....)  - A courtesy base for male batters walked before a female batter will be given. A female MUST bat when a male batter is walked before her with less than two outs.

Universal runner (anyone on the registered approved roster will be allowed to pinch-run / gender restricted M/M - F/F) 12 batters allowed maximum - with a DH and EH positions - Choice between big or small ball will be given to female batters only. If a batter walks, they must go to first and touch first base before a pinch runner can take over

​

Game times will run 59 minutes / Finish the inning - If tied play will go to 1 pitch playoff. Championship game will be NO time limit and play a FULL 7 inning game. Run Rule: 15 after 3 innings, 12 after 4 innings, & 10 after 5 innings -

* All players must remain the dugout at all times - aside from the on-deck batter and 3rd/1st base coaches

*Rosters will be submitted to the players league no later than 48 hours prior to 1st pitch in order to classify members of each team. Teams must do so by logging on to www.playersleague.org *Players will require ID when signing the waiver in prior to 1st pitch We will be required each team keep a book to submit each players stats, as they will be handed over to the Players League staff once teams have been eliminated from the tournament and then logged into the Players League data base. Lineup cards must be submitted to/from each team as well as the umpire prior to 1st pitch.

MEN'S​

Balls - 44/375 required to be used (Each team must supply their own balls)

 

Home Run Maximum (4) per game, per team - Any HR after 4 results in I/E (Accept a HR by a Band Player) (* Please note for E division HR total is 3 - same rules apply) - Home Run Bands available for purchase at $25.00 - Allowing playing wearing the band to hit as many Homeruns as they can. 1 per team - 1 person per game. Please note: Once a player is selected to wear the HR band (prior to start of game) you cannot switch players mid game - umpire / team(s) must be notified prior to 1st pitch. HR bands will reset after every game and teams may select the same or different player to wear band for next game.

* If you walk the Homerun Band hitter (DHH) that team will have ONE free home run until he (DHH) comes back up again in the lineup and it doesn’t matter how many innings in between. please note: If a batter walks, they must go to first and touch first base before a pinch runner can take over

12 batters allowed maximum - with a DH and EH positions

Game times will run 55 minutes / Finish the inning

Extra inning will be Kansas City style 1 pitch with a man on second base to start the inning 

​

Championship game will be NO time limit and play a FULL 7 inning game.

 

Run Rule:

15 after 3 innings, 12 after 4 innings, & 10 after 5 innings

No metal or screw in cleats are allowed – ONLY molded will be allowed.

Please note: As expected, we will NOT tolerate any violence. Anyone involved in a fight of any kind, will be suspended from the entire tournament and will be escorted off the premises immediately.
